Job description
Richardson Healthcare, a newly formed strategic business unit (SBU) for Richardson Electronics, provides high quality, high value, cost effective replacement parts for diagnostic imaging equipment (primarily CT and MRI) to hospitals and independent service organizations on a global basis. Richardson Electronics, through its glassware and PACS display businesses, has a base on which to build the organization. The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and implementing the sales plan for Richardson Healthcare in conjunction with executive management
Create and modify as necessary organization structure
Day to day management of the REL healthcare sales team; includes goal setting, performance monitoring, establishing and monitoring corrective action, when necessary, and overall attainment of approved business plans.
Interact with vendors, sales force and customers to identify demand, resolve issues and improve lines of communication.
Drive the implementation of new processes as required to increase revenue, reduce product costs, improve quality, reduce/optimize working capital, improve cash flow and achieve a superior manufacturing environment.
Work closely with EDG, Canvys and REL senior staff, sharing resources where appropriate.
Recommend potential acquisitions to expand the products, services and/or geographical coverage of the business unit; participate in process as required
Keep abreast of and communicate technology changes.
Meet with major customers on a regular basis.
Desired Skills and Experience
Must possess 10+ years of experience in sales management in the diagnostic imaging parts market. Primary products supported include CT and MRI.
Must have proven success in building a sales organization from scratch and achieving significant sales growth targets.
Must speak fluent English.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as a proven ability to lead, institute structure and foster a team environment within the business.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent required; MBA preferred
Person will work from Richardson Electronics Corporate Headquarters in LaFox, IL. This position will require a person to be hands on and not dependent on a team of reports to get tasks accomplished. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. International business travel to other REL locations, customers, and vendors will be required
