And that's why We Select the Best.® In the Senior Director, Environmental Health & Safety role, you will provide leadership to accomplish stated safety and risk management goals throughout the organization.

We are looking to the Sr. Director Environmental Health & Safety to provide input and expertise into the development of safety strategies, policies and procedures for managing risks across the enterprise. Reporting to the VP, EHS, Security, and Risk Management, you will aid in the management of an integrated risk management framework that defines appropriate metrics and reports, aggregates quantitative and qualitative risks across the enterprise, ensures development of systems and data management capabilities to support risk management programs, and improves the understanding of risk policies and limits to all participants in the company.

Responsibilities
Develop, direct and manage, and safety, loss control, security, legal and internal control measures at the corporate, regional, and facility levels.
Develop strategies to prevent and minimize employee injury, educate management and associates, increase awareness achieve sustainable behavioral changes.
Direct and manage relationship with workers compensation, medical resources, and regional safety organization to establish systems which provide appropriate care for associates and support the needs of the business
In conjunction with the senior leadership develop and implement an Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) in accordance with company and OSHA requirements
Direct the development and updates of emergency response program; includes annual refresher training, drills and tabletop preparedness exercises
Seeks ways to optimize risks in the organization as a competitive business advantage
Provide recommended contractual language to internal departments for the purpose of minimizing liability and ensuring customers, vendors and contractors carry and comply with stated insurance requirements.
Identify enterprise risks and apply appropriate techniques to eliminate, transfer, mitigate or self-insure such risks to protect the Corporation.
Develop audit and reporting mechanisms to track progress, identify loss causes and ensure accountability
Provide Senior Level EHS expertise and regulatory leadership to operational business functions to enable efficient knowledge transfer of key skills to managers, supervisors and hourly associates.
In conjunction with the senior leadership and the facility Directors, develop and maintain a culture in which everyone is responsible for their personal safety as well as the safety of each other and assure that leadership actively observes the facilities for safe conditions and behaviors, corrects deficiencies and leads by example.
Continually drive to improve the knowledge and skill of the facility management, supervisors and associates to positively impact the safe operations of the business
Analyze/interpret company safety metrics to proactively target and eliminate injury to associates and risk to the company through the development and execution of strategic risk reduction programs.
Analyze loss experience and negotiate annual collateral demands with carriers
Manage complex property claims
Ensures all environmental safety and health programs (training, permitting, reporting, documentation etc.) for facility operations permitting including but not limited to RCRA/HazWoper, PSM, Stormwater, and SPCC are fully compliant with company policy and Local, State, and Federal laws

Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years direct experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment with at least 3 years of management experience. Multiple facility experience considered a plus. Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels).
Working knowledge of risk management, accounting, valuation, reserving requirements, asset-liability/risk management, information technology, strategic planning and operations for insurance products and assets
Working knowledge of most, if not all of environmental requirements and regulations, strong experience leading a national team of regional EHS managers. Understanding and implementing industry practices to reduce accidents. Exposure to behavior based safety programs a definite plus.
Experience in risk and insurance management position for a large corporation, commercial agent or broker or from practical experiences with risk and insurance practice and policies ARM, CPCU or other insurance or risk management designations considered a plus.
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to articulate presentations to groups of all sizes and levels.
Ability to establish and maintain partnerships cross functionally.
Passionate about safety and regulatory compliance and constantly monitors performance and responds rapidly to changes in conditions.
