Director - Federal Marketing - Xceedium - Washington
Job description
The Director of Federal Marketing will own the strategy for, and execution of, Xceedium's Federal marketing plan. The individual selected for this position will be expert in the Federal Government market, with experience creating and executing integrated Federal marketing plans, and knowledge of relevant civilian, military, and intelligence community cybersecurity programs and initiatives.
This position reports to the Director of Product Marketing.
The Director of Federal Marketing will:
Be the marketing lead for Federal channels, developing and gaining internal consensus for Federal-specific positioning, messaging, and target marketing.
Develop marketing plans and manage programs, campaigns, and events to generate market demand and leads, build awareness, and promote Xceedium solutions within the end-user, integrator, and reseller communities.
Engage the integrator and reseller communities in joint marketing activities, in close coordination with the marketing team, the Chief Strategy Officer, the Vice President of Government Sales, and the Vice President for Strategic Alliances.
Develop relevant content (white papers, blog and social media postings, webcasts, presentations, press releases, training materials, etc.) that communicate Xceedium's value proposition for the Federal sector.
Promote Xceedium's thought leadership by identifying and pursuing opportunities for Xceedium leadership to participate and speak at conferences, press interviews, industry analyst briefings, and in social media.
Regularly report results from activities to senior marketing and executive leadership, making adjustments as needed to ensure the achievement of established goals.
Desired Skills and Experience
The position requires:
7+ years hands-on experience marketing enterprise software to the Federal Government.
Ability to successfully manage program goals, strategy, and execution in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Cybersecurity domain expertise spanning the Civilian, Department of Defense, and Intelligence communities (such as FISMA, the NIST 800-series controls and requirements, DoD 8500 series instructions, Cross Agency Priority Cybersecurity Goals, HSPD-12, the DHS's Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program, etc.)
Experience with and knowledge of cloud and virtualized computing is essential.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills are mandatory.
An ideal candidate will possess a broad marketing background, including product, field, and partner marketing, public relations, etc.
Must be a self-starter with high energy, initiative, and preparedness who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Position is based in Herndon, Virginia. Some travel is required to industry conferences, customer visits, and sales/partner meetings.
