Senior Account Director - Czarnowski - Detroit


Job description
The Senior Account Director is the primary strategic & daily interface within “Trusted” client relationships. He or she is responsible for proactively understanding the client’s business makeup, products/services and industry as a whole. The Senior Account Director will also be responsible for ensuring the client’s exhibit marketing goals and objectives are aligned and achievable for Cadillac Global and US Auto Shows (with oversight into Canada Auto Shows). Account Directors will also direct the daily work activity of account managers and project managers assigned to assist in the execution of client activities. In addition to this job description, the person in this position is responsible for operating within and managing to Czarnowski’s standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: evaluating/developing client program objectives; assessing the need for Program Strategy Services and Creative Services; and Strategic Program Review execution and evaluation. Program Directors evaluate client exhibit marketing needs, make recommendations and deliver solutions. This will primarily be done through program reviews, strategic initiatives and by providing measureable solutions that enhance the client’s program and Czarnowski’s relationship with the client.
ACCOUNT DIRECTOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Provide Leadership
a. Work with clients to uncover business objectives, align exhibit marketing objectives and identify/implement services to help achieve client goals.
b. Share best practices that elevate each exhibit program.
c. Utilize broad industry expertise to provide recommendations and solutions.

2) Build and Grow Client Relationships
a. Understand clients' businesses and generate new ideas to enhance exhibit program performance.
b. Build trust, credibility and client satisfaction.
c. Develop multi-tiered partner-client relationships and ties.

3) Design Direction
a. Oversee design direction with Account Director to meet client brand standards and marketing needs.
b. Influence creativity to ensure client satisfaction and program effectiveness.

4) Overall Program Strategy
a. Identify areas of opportunity to enhance the program and work collaboratively with all parties to provide education, initiatives, solutions and execution.
b. Engage with Program Strategist(s) to develop and implement strategic initiatives.

5) Measurement (Pending JMW level of involvement in Cadillac)
a. Engage Program Strategist(s) to develop measurement standards and appropriate tactics based on identified client criteria.
b. Determine the ideal level of program measurement based on experience, knowledge of the client program, the client’s industry and the client’s desire for clear metrics.
c. Implement and manage measurement program with support from Program Strategist(s).

6) Agency Relationships
a. Obtain and maintain a deep understanding of all marketing-related agency partners and their roles.
b. Possess a clear understanding of how the client’s exhibit program fits into its overall marketing communications program (develop a SWOT analysis of the exhibit program relative to other viable mediums currently in use).
c. Establish relationships, where appropriate, with the client’s agencies. Leverage this as an opportunity to support other client programs where that agency is involved.


7) Client/Market Research (Pending JMW level of involvement in Cadillac)
a. Develop a thorough understanding of client products and/or service offerings.
b. Develop a thorough understanding of competitor products and/or service offerings.
c. Research the client’s customers, as well as the general marketing arena, in order to best advise the client on preferred marketing methods and most effective ways to reach potential and existing customers.


ACCOUNT DIRECTOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES | Project Specific
1) Main Client Contact During Kickoff Phase - AD is responsible to drive discovery with the client and develop initial budgets, designs, timelines, and basic planning to initiate a project.

2) Design Drivers – Drive design process through design department
a. Create work orders for design.
b. Create CzarNet entries.
c. Present and review design solutions to/with client.

3) Estimating
a. Create show budgets including overall project logistics, department hours, and services.
b. Drive new design estimates through the estimating department with PM/AM support.
c. Review and approve budgets and estimates developed by assigned account managers.

4) Critical Path Development - Work with account managers and project managers to create overall project timelines during the planning phase of every project for both internal and client use.

5) Kickoff Meetings
a. Drive internal project launch meetings to get projects turned over to the AM and production—with PM support.
b. Drive internal project launch meetings requiring little/no fabrication with the support of the AM and Logistics Coordinator.

6) Workflow System Entries
a. Enter work being run through the Czarnowski system into COMS, Czarnowski's web-based workflow system.
b. Enter design work into CzarNET, Czarnowski's web-based design workflow system.
c. Integrate
and support all other workflow tools and procedures as required by management and/or clients.

7) On Site Support
a. Assign on-site support staff and communicate details to client.
b. Oversee staff planning and timely booking of project-related travel.

8) Post Show Reporting
a. Schedule and lead a project team conference call to discuss each show’s successes and opportunities for improvement.
b. Discuss damage incurred, repair pricing, corrective measures and adjustments moving forward.

9) Time Tracking - On a weekly basis, post hours for all project specific tasks in Business Portal, Czarnowski's web based time tracking system.

10) Profitability
a. Responsible for communicating any proposal costs and the financial impact on projects turned over from sales.
b. Responsible for managing and minimizing unplanned variances.
Desired Skills and Experience
Travel is required and may be extensive at times. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a prerequisite, along with a clear understanding of Auto Shows and Event Marketing and how both should be integrated with other mediums. A college degree is required, as well as a strong background or previous experience in a related marketing field.

This position will be evaluated against this job description with an emphasis on developing stronger and high-level customer relationships. The individual in this position will also be measured in regards to their ability to secure long-term customer relationships and to drive increased creative and strategic revenue. Client satisfaction and establishing a trusted partnership relationship with the client are paramount.
