Division/College: College of Professional Studies
Position Summary:
The Director of Digital Strategy will direct the website and web marketing strategy for the College of Professional Studies. He/she will create a strategic plan for the structure and content of the College of Professional Studies websites, with overall responsibility to ensure marketing and communications performance. He/she will plan, execute, and measure success of web initiatives for the College, including but not limited to website performance and search marketing initiatives.

He/she will also be responsible for leading and managing the scope, development, general layout, and routine management of the website. In addition, the Digital Director will develop a content strategy that ensures accurate and current content be continually updated and optimized; using messaging that engages website users.

The Director of Digital Strategy creates annual plan in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Director of Communications and supports enrollment marketing and enhancement of reputation. This includes but is not limited to the development of a superior user experience, optimization, content strategy and messaging, and integration of marketing and admissions software tools.

This individual will build positive and productive relationships with Northeastern University Information Services and University marketing and communications staff to ensure alignment with overall brand and positioning. Manages teams of internal and external web designers and content specialists.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related discipline and 6-8 years’ experience in website management and planning, content development and user experience with a minimum of 2 years in website management. Master’s degree preferred.

Demonstrated success in managing major projects and strategic projects, and supporting online marketing and communications initiatives. Excellent communications skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment. Working knowledge of web technology. Proven ability to work with vendors and agencies to produce results.

Familiarity with content management systems required and exposure to marketing automation systems and CRM systems preferred

Prior experience in supervising interactive marketing professionals helpful. Ability to work efficiently, creatively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment. Demonstrate business-like manner and appearance; exercise diplomacy and tact.
