Director US Shared Services Job Description

Essential Job Function/Responsibilities:

Provide overall strategy, team development, and process leadership to the US Shared Services organization (AP, AR, GL, Sales Support, accounting for US entities). Aligns Shared Services to Company direction.
Implement and maintain standardized process design.
Relentless commitment to standardization and optimization of processes (including supporting effective centralization of processes); drive process improvement to deliver top quartile cost, cycle time, and quality performance; perform to service level agreements (SLA’s) developed for key customers.
Implement financial close process improvements, support close, and consolidation standardization to optimize the financial close-to-report process. Make sure intercompany reconciliations and account reconciliations are complete and accurate.
Drive continuous improvements and optimizations of GP and Hyperion.
Understanding of US multi-tax jurisdictions.
Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Establish and ensure the operating effectiveness of internal controls that are SOX compliant.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present financial information to all levels within the Finance group.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
Demonstrated expertise in team building and mentoring of finance team.
Credible, ethical, confidential, full disclosure, and clean financial history.
Exceptional work ethic. Self-starter and self-motivated.

Technical Skills:

Strong computer skills with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong technical skills involving reconciliations, cost analysis, and month-end close.
Strong analytical skills and experience using an ERP system (GP and Hyperion/Oracle) preferably from a software environment.

Education:

BA/BS degree plus ten years directly and progressively responsible job related experience in Finance and Accounting for financial shared services. Degree in Accounting preferred.
CPA and/or CMA preferred.
