Job description
The Design Director is responsible for leading design and our kickass design team as needed in the creation and implementation of projects. The Design Director supervises and supports designers with project objectives, project vision, design, interactive design, and other creative solutions. This key position includes working with account leads and project management to ensure that project deliverables satisfy the client, go out on time, and support project goals.
The Design Director reports to the Chief Experience Officer and will work closely with the Director of UX and Creative Directors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide design leadership, vision and produce conceptual ideas with a focus in design development and production to follow.
Oversee design team to maintain overall design vision, philosophy, and work process, in addition to taking on design projects of your own.
Present concepts to clients and supporting design teams.
Help recruit new designers and act as a leader in setting and nurturing the company’s culture.
Help establish and improve project workflow process and procedures, including resourcing
Look for innovative concepts related to building brand messaging.
Provide performance reviews every 6 months for each designer on your team.
Desired Skills and Experience
7 - 10 years of design experience within an agency atmosphere
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge of CSS and HTML
Knowledge of Flash, After Effects, Cinema 4D a plus
Pixel perfect and attentive to detail
Ability to work quickly and handle multiple projects at once while maintaining organization
Positive attitude and leadership/motivational skills
