Job description
Director, Public Relations
JustFab, the online fashion styling service and lifestyle brand, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Manager or Director for the Public Relations team. This position will report directly into the Vice President of Global Communications and will work closely with the CEOs and other executive team members. The current Public Relations team consists of the VP of Global Communications, PR Associate and PR Coordinator.
JustFab is a high-energy and fast-paced company. We are looking for new employees who can both work hard but have fun doing it. In less than 4 years, we have become the leader of the fashion-subscription category. 2014 will be another huge year for the company with ongoing category expansion and large scale brand awareness initiatives.
Job Description:
This position will take a very active role in both strategy and implementation. Working hand-in-hand with the VP of the department, he/she will conceptualize unique publicity opportunities to both engage the media and consumers. This person will also work with the entire team on implementation.
Development and implementation of Annual and Seasonal Public Relations Plans, based off the marketing and merchandising launch schedule
National and Regional Media and Product Placement (print, broadcast, online)
Partnership Evaluation and Management
Special Events Planning and Execution
Create press materials
Influencer outreach and relationship building & maintenance
Provide PR counsel and messaging and positioning guidance to various departments and spokespeople
Keep a pulse on industry, audience trends, and stories
Manage external agency resources to drive results; direct agency resources and monitor for quality control; provide direct and timely feedback; oversee development of PR plans and monitor and measure agency deliverables against goals and objectives
Oversee and mentor departmental reports
Interface extensively with internal counterparts in the creative services, marketing, and sales departments
Celebrity stylist and VIP relations experience a plus
Qualifications:
6+ years’ experience in Fashion PR (agency or in-house)
Experience with ecommerce-based companies preferred, but not required
4-Year college degree with an emphasis in journalism, communication, marketing or public relations highly preferred
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Strong relationships with long lead editors at top national magazines, top tier regional print and broadcast as well as entertainment media
Ability to develop and manage plans and budgets
Strong technical skills including Excel, Photo Shop, and PowerPoint
Team player, advance organization skills, attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take ownership of major projects
The professionalism to work with important and high profile constituencies
The ability to interact effectively with principals to interpret, explain, and advocate media opportunities
