Director - Product Marketing, Assessment Products - Rapid7 - Boston


Job description
We are seeking an experienced product marketing leader to grow a team and drive new initiatives at one of the fastest growing cybersecurity companies in the world. In this pivotal role, you will work with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Communications, Demand Creation and Business Development to drive the company’s customer-facing marketing plans. You will be responsible for creating world-class messaging, establishing competitive differentiators, identifying and scoping appropriate markets, enabling and supporting a direct sales team, building a channel ecosystem, and rolling up your sleeves to identify and solve worldwide challenges.

Job Responsibilities:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be at the cutting-edge of creating solutions and being a face to the company.
Lead and grow a team of product marketing managers
Craft differentiated messaging for Rapid7’s industry-leading security assessment products
Research, propose and implement go-to-market plans including distribution channels, vertical and freemium strategies, pricing and packaging.
Be a product evangelist and spokesperson, communicating with both internal (insides sales) and external stakeholders (partners, press, analysts) through social media, webcasts, briefings and product demonstrations
Support our sales organization as the primary interface for sales enablement initiatives (positioning guides, presentations, pain chains, battle cards, demos, etc.).
Jointly plan and execute marketing plans including selection, defining and managing of marketing campaigns with Rapid7’s Demand Generation team
Participate in the development and refinement of external solution launch plans and timelines
Work closely with Rapid7’s Corporate Communications team and external PR agencies to generate press releases, media coverage and customer reference stories
Thoroughly understand the IT security landscape, Rapid7’s products and customers, buying triggers and influencers

Desired Skills and Experience
Ideal candidate is an experienced leader with more than 5 years of product marketing experience in enterprise applications or security solutions marketing with at least 2 years of experience in successfully building a team.
Strong background in messaging complex products with a knack for establishing competitive differentiation
Experience in working with product teams to shape evolutions of current products and to define revolutionary new products
High-energy, creative problem solver with an extroverted, entrepreneurial attitude
Solid technical foundation with the ability to translate technical content into business value for internal and external stakeholders
Proven experience in creating content for marketing materials for demand generation campaigns, composing tweets, and writing blogs, website content, data sheets, magazine articles, press releases and other promotional collateral and communications
Strong communication skills (written and verbal; one-on-one and group)
Ability to discuss business issues and relate them back to technology that helps improve business
Bacherlor’s Degree Required. MBA strongly preferred.
Industry experience is a plus
