This position is responsible for creating a cut-through content strategy across multiple channels for eBay Inc.'s internal and external stakeholders. This includes eBay Inc.'s global digital channels - ebayinc.com and our employee intranet 'the hub' - and our social platforms and presence on twitter, linkedin etc. Working closely with external engagement, employee engagement, global brand and technical teams, the role will partner effectively across the matrix and drive success against well-defined goals. The role will manage a team of 6 and report to the VP, Corporate Communications eBay Inc.
The successful candidate will be a strong strategic thinker with top-notch digital and social strategy, content and technical skills.
Partner with global communications leaders to develop and implement a visionary and consolidated eBay Inc. global narrative and messaging strategy in alignment with our portfolio of businesses, including PayPal, Marketplaces and eBay Enterprise
Refine and implement 'Connected Commerce' narrative, supporting key strategic themes: global commerce leadership, consumer experience, mobile innovation and social innovation
Ensure global narrative supports regional markets through localization
Develop holistic measurements to gauge awareness, sentiment and perception of our global narrative; and continually improve global and regional narrative strategy to improve global awareness and understanding
Develop and execute innovative content strategy that drives strong, consistent messaging aligned to narrative and global brand across all channels
Establish best-in-class storytelling that delivers the right content in the right formats to the right channels in alignment with business priorities, employee value proposition and global communications themes
Drive leading-edge use of visual media - video, photography, interactive digital features and infographics to tell our story in compelling, engaging and immediate ways with an eye toward driving social sharing and engagement
Devise and implement appropriate content-sharing methods with BUs and local markets to improve timeliness and increase visibility of global content
Implement holistic metrics to measure, monitor and continually improve content strategy and implementation across all channels
Ensure eBay Inc. digital channels are best in class to drive internal and external engagement
Evolve company intranet to drive personalization, voice of employee, omnichannel access, social collaboration and real-time measurements
Evolve and improve the corporate website -- ebayinc.com -- to articulate the eBay Inc. global narrative and drive sharing and engagement among external stakeholders
Oversee special digital projects to amplify eBay Inc. stories among key stakeholders, including developing of microsites and landing pages
Build world-class social media strategy that engages, drives conversation and strengthens relationships with stakeholders
Develop integrated, cutting-edge social media strategy to drive conversation, sharing and awareness in owned and distributed social channels
Establish curatorial strategy to elevate thought leadership stories
Create social syndication strategy to expand our reach based in part on social relationship building with key influencers
10-15+ years of editorial / communications experience delivering smart and effective content-led strategies at a senior level - preferably in a global organization; agency or consulting background a strong plus
Minimum 5 years of experience overseeing digital publishing processes and leading a digital publishing team
Minimum 5 years of experience overseeing the development of websites as well as other digital properties and channels
Minimum 4 years of senior-level experience overseeing social strategy and implementation
Demonstrated record of success in building, managing and coaching a team for success
Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree in related field preferred
Active user and advocate of both eBay and PayPal highly desired
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in the following areas
Strong creative, visual and editorial point of view
Superb verbal, written, storytelling and editing skills, including development and evolution of editorial style guides to drive engaging and consistent messaging across a global communications channels
Develop and execute innovative content strategy that drives visionary and consolidated eBay Inc. global narrative in alignment with our portfolio of businesses, including PayPal, Marketplaces and eBay Enterprise to deliver strong, consistent messaging across all channels.
