As Senior Manager of the AWS Data Center Network Engineering team, you will own the full lifecycle of our data center networks. From design through operations, you will be responsible for the availability, performance, cost and scalability of our massive scale network infrastructure. Thanks to AWS, a large fraction of the Internet now depends on our network and systems. This presents unprecedented challenges which can only be solved through invention. As an organizational leader, your job is to lead a team of 40+ managers and engineers to deliver solutions that are always available, provide unconstrained bandwidth, drive to the cost floor and achieve low and consistent latency.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
· 7+ years of industry experience in a similar environment.
· 5+ years of management experience.
· Proven track record of success conceptualizing and delivering engineering solutions to customers.
· Prior ownership of the design and operation of a mission-critical system.
· Hands-on engineering experience in networking, large-scale distributed systems or a related field.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Substantial background building and operating large-scale networks.
· In-depth experience in the application of network design, including knowledge of major protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration and traffic engineering.
· Experience building production software applications or solid understanding of software development, distributed systems and systems architecture.
