Job description
Senior Data Center project leader to plan, lead and manage the successful delivery of Data Center Transformation and Consolidation activities. This senior resource needs to be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, familiar with governing disruptive technologies, managing multiple vendors, contractors and technology disciplines, while communicating to both business and technology resources
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for budget, evaluate, procure, install, configure, upgrade and trouble-shoot the server, PBX, and desktop hardware, software and interfaces.
• Responsible for developing department guidelines and standard operation procedures according to the approved minimum internal control standards.
• Responsible for staying informed on new technologies with a view towards integrating them into the company's architecture, recommend and implement process improvements and purchases that will improve system performance, user productivity, customer satisfaction and/or reduce costs.
• Responsible for designing and developing custom production application and reporting systems.
• Performs primary or backup resource for production software applications.
• Responsible for applying sound and proven methods when necessary using modern programming language, databases and reporting tools.
• Responsible for all correct and concise complex mathematical algorithms for delivery of exceptional application systems.
• Responsible for all implementation application software installations and upgrades for systems Accounting, and Personnel.
• Works with outside consultants and vendors to learn, troubleshoot and support internal custom application systems.
• Responsible for tracking and reporting software problems to applicable vendors for resolution.
• Recommends or performs actions to correct software problems.
• Evaluates and performs testing of new and existing software problems.
• Ensures appropriate security measures are developed and in place as part of software application.
• Coordinates and communicates with all IT management departments to ensure proper reporting is conducted.
• Develop and implement a training curriculum for subordinates for acquisition of various networking certs.
Desired Skills and Experience
• 10-15 years of IT experience, with a concentration in Project/Program Management
• Minimum 5 years in a Senior IT Leadership position (Program Manager/Director, Client Partner, Functional Manager/Director)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrable Client and Relationship Management (internal and/or external)
• Experience managing, coaching, and/or mentoring junior and senior staff (particularly Project Managers)
• Experience managing teams in a matrix organization
• Knowledge of the Software development life cycle and Computer Systems Validation in a regulated environment is a plus
• BS degree preferred, MS degree a plus
• PMP certification a plus
• Big 4 exeperience or equivalent a plus
