Performance Measurement - Manager - UBS - Chicago


Job description
Individual will be responsible for managing a team of performance analysts who collectively oversee the performance return and attribution process for complex institutional and wrap accounts. The individual will manage the validation process for total and sector returns, by currency and country. The successful candidate will ensure that proper controls are in place and certify the integrity of SOX-related controls. In addition, the individual will produce various monthly reports, test systems and manage the entire performance generation cycle. The Individual will manage aspects of an ongoing conversion to the B-One performance measurement system. Responsible for Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) compliance and management of firm’s composite processes and analytics and ensure the firm adheres to industry-wide reporting and calculation standards. The individual will need to be able to work closely with outside auditors, regulators, investment personnel as well as internal legal and compliance teams, product and capabilities managers and marketing teams. The individual will be relied upon to be a subject matter expert on all aspects of performance measurement and attribution.

Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree, preferably in Finance or Finance related field, with a strong record of achievement.
A Master’s degree or CFA is preferred.
We require an experienced, diligent, detail-oriented, organized, and hardworking manager with strong communication skills.
The candidate must be able to interact confidently at all levels across firm.
The candidate must have well-developed analytical skills and exhibit excellent attention to detail and be able to meet strict deadlines.
Knowledge of investment concepts, strategies is required.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word is required and a working knowledge of various portfolio accounting and performance measurement systems is desirable.
Knowledge of GIPS is required as is a record of hiring, managing and developing staff. Knowledge of GIMII and the BI-SAM B-One system is beneficial.
