Director - Professional Development - Neudesic - Lombard
Job description
As a member of the Solutions Delivery Group (SDG), the Director of Professional Development (DPD) shall be for acquiring new talent and aligning his/her delivery organization with Neudesic’s organizational goals and objectives - by increasing the team's knowledge, skills, and abilities, while successfully balancing between individual's career needs and the organization.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Project Staffing: Partnering with SDG Operations Management in the selection and assignment of team members to various client engagements.
Talent Acquisition: Partnering with Talent Acquisition Managers in the selection of new talent.
New-Hire Onboarding: Responsible for acclimation of new Employees into Neudesic - ensuring they quickly feel welcomed, and valued by the organization – thus enabling new Employees to quickly become productive and understand what is expected of them in their new role.
Planning & Goal Alignment: Responsible for helping the Employee set individual goals and objectives that align with Neudesic’s organizational goals and objectives.
Career Planning: Proactive in the process of identifying job opportunities for the Employee within the organizational structure - and the sequential steps in education, skills, and experience-building needed to attain specific career goals.
Learning & Development: Proactive in establishing training goals and learning plans through Neudesic’s Learning Management System - that link to individual goal attainment, career planning and potential succession planning.
Coaching: Proactive in using a wide variety of behavioral techniques and methods to: assist team members achieve mutually identified goals; and improve professional performance and personal satisfaction. These activities are performed in an effort to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Leadership Development: Proactive in identifying and developing current and future leadership talent.
Employee Performance Management: Responsible for communicating and clarifying the Employee’s job responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations, review cycles, and development planning - that optimizes an individual’s performance and is aligned with Neudesic’s organizational goals and objectives.
Project Performance Management: Responsibility is comprised of providing feedback to employees about their performance as gathered from internal project feedback systems.
Recognition: Responsible for acknowledging, honoring, encouraging, and supporting individuals and teams who contribute, through behaviors and actions, to the success of the organization – through structured and non-structured departmental and corporate programs.
Compensation & Benefits: Responsible for rewarding individuals for exceptional performance during performance cycles, to include, but are not limited to, their contributions to the goals of Neudesic and increased skills and competencies in their job.
Succession Management: Responsible for frequently assessing the availability of experienced and capable Employee’s that are prepared to assume other roles as they become available through promotion.
Position Requirements:
15+ years of overall experience, to include a minimum of 5 years of staff development experience - in the professional IT services industry.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, problem solving and short term and long term planning.
Experienced, persuasive and effective presenter, both written and verbal.
Experience leading high performance, results driven teams’ with a focus on employee satisfaction.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering. MBA preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities.
Ability to travel up to 30 - 50%.
