Director - Product & Marketing Data Solutions - PayPal - San Jose


Job description
The Director, Product and Marketing Data Solutions will be responsible for delivering data management, data warehousing, data engineering (hadoop) and business intelligence capabilities that enable efficient operations, intelligent decision making and targeted business growth strategies in support of PayPal's Product and Marketing organizations. This person will have strong business acumen, extensive data warehousing background, experience with web analytics tools, database marketing and a track record for delivering world-class analytical solutions. The successful candidate will need to be both a get-it-done, hands-on leader as well as a strategic thinker able to turn ideas into action.

Responsibilities will include:
Manage a skilled team of Product Owners responsible for delivering technology solutions that enable a data-driven culture.
Develop and deliver a portfolio of data/analytics capabilities to support database marketing, campaign management and product analytics.
Partner with the business to develop a marketing technology roadmap focusing on enhancing CRM capabilities.
Build a rich customer data architecture that leverages customer/behavioral data and creates a strategic advantage for the PayPal business.
Must have experience in working with a global staff and with outsourced partners near-shore and offshore.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and skilled at adjusting communication style/vocabulary to your audience's role/function and technical familiarity.
Highly adaptable, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Unica Marketing solutions highly desirable.
Experience with Teradata data warehouse solutions highly desirable.
Experience with MicroStrategy and/or Tabluea reporting tools desirable.

Requirements:
15+ years experience leading CRM, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing teams that support Product and Marketing business functions.
Solid understanding of and experience with web analytics tools (Omniture, Google Analytics, Webtrends or Coremetrics) preferred.
Overall strong direct marketing, database marketing, and/or CRM experience.
8+ years expertise with a large-scale data warehouse system (preferably Teradata DBMS).
Experience leading Hadoop solutions and Big technologies including but not limited to PIG, HIVE, HBASE and HDFS is a huge plus.
Education requirements:
MMBA or other relevant Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or other technology field.
