Director - Marketing Project Management - Group Insurance - Prudential - Roseland


Job description

Responsible for execution excellence of all marketing projects and campaigns supporting Marketing and business priorities. The successful candidate will be working in the Group Insurance Marketing organization. Incumbent must have related management experience and proven leadership skills and will manage and support a professional staff of marketers. Incumbent will report to Vice President, Marketing Services and Branding. Incumbent must be an experienced marketer, administrator and project manager of various types of projects ranging from new product launches and large scale, complex campaigns. Incumbent must be able to learn and understand the market and products we offer to be able to lead a team of professional marketing managers. Incumbent must provide direction on new campaigns, advertising, messaging.

Key Responsibilities:
Develops objectives and strategies as well as monitors performance for execution.
Partner with various marketing groups to create timelines and expectations of delivery.
Serve as a resource working closely with the directors of marketing to build timelines and expected output.
Serve as key member of the creative services process in developing marketing campaigns, materials and deliverables.
Responsible for reporting capacity, timelines and results by developing and producing reports for internal business partners. Manage, as necessary, special projects and programs, including multifaceted projects that require expertise in variety of tasks.
Review all pieces of a project and be accountable for all aspects of its success.
Train and manage internal and external resources on our systems, workflow procedures, and how to work with internal and external partners.
Prioritize workload for staff in order to achieve project goals.
Manage internal and external resources to successfully complete the project within the given time constraints.
Communicate project status to key stakeholders. Conduct periodic steering committee meetings with executive and senior management to communicate high-level project status, obtain critical decisions and guidance, and ensure continuous organizational commitment.
Join forces with designers to enhance the creativity of our marketing materials.
Collaborate with design team to create marketing pieces with harmonious design and copy elements.
Work with designers to find creative solutions to challenges such as too much copy and too little space in our marketing pieces.
Enhance value of creative services team with involvement in strategy and positioning of marketing projects at the initial stages.
Incumbent is responsible for training all project managers on execution excellence which includes process, product and business knowledge. Each Project Manager will be expected to serve as a marketing expert with full knowledge of products and services.
· Coordinate vendor selection and contract execution, and manage vendor relationship through project implementation.
· Develop, distribute and gather completed post implementation project surveys, review lessons learned with project team, and strengthen other organizational processes and standards

Desired Skills and Experience

Results-oriented, driven professional with 7-10 years of experience in the financial services industry; group benefits or retirement plans a plus
Proven ability to create high-impact sales stories, marketing materials and sales tools
An independent, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Proven leadership skills and direct experience managing staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Project Management or related field is a plus
PMP or other Project Management designation a plus
Ability to adapt to various situations - work in a fast paced environment
Demonstrates leadership and can take the lead with little or no guidance - work independently
Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills (able to think "outside the box")
Builds rapport and can interact professionally with various business partners at all levels
