Director - Pricing - ADT - West Palm Beach, Florida


Job description
Develops & implements overall pricing strategies and frameworks that align to and support the profitable growth strategies & go-to-market approaches of each Business Unit. Partners with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Business Unit leadership to manage and enhance the company’s pricing structures, capabilities, and policies based on insights from internal and external sources including (but not limited to): competitive dynamics, market trends, customer research, & cost information. Accountable for ensuring all pricing policies & procedures are in full compliance with ADT’s governance and controls program.

Position Responsibilities:
Manages a small team of pricing professionals accountable for the development and execution of pricing strategies to maximize the company’s profitability.
Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies, identifies gaps and opportunities, and recommends innovative yet practical improvements
Leads price coordination for partnerships, programs/campaigns, and new product or service offerings, setting price points and offers that optimally align price with value to drive revenue, customer retention, profit, etc.
Manages process for approving all promotional or ongoing price changes
Directs the analysis of pricing and portfolio performance, ensuring optimal pricing across all markets, transaction types, and customer segments
Organizes and guides internal and external pricing research to support pricing decisions
Tracks the impact of price changes & promotional activity on profitability and customer lifetime value
Performs analysis to understand customer price sensitivity by segment/vertical and the impact of pricing changes to the business
Builds the necessary data, tools, and infrastructure to report on overall pricing effectiveness and to increase the organization’s pricing competencies
Maintains/enhances profitability models used to manage subscriber profitability
Supports/drives projects to improve speed and effectiveness of price and/or capability deployment
Drives culture change activities directing focus towards maximizing customer lifetime value
Develops and manages the annual ‘Pricing function’ operating budget, ensuring appropriate funds are allocated against priority initiatives
Ensures all pricing policies and processes are efficient and streamlined while in full compliance with ADT’s controls program.
Desired Skills and Experience
Education:
Minimum BS / BSE (preferably in the field of Finance, Engineering, or Statistics), MBA preferred
Experience/Skills & Knowledge:
8-10 years experience in B2C / direct-to-consumer business
Minimum 5 years analytical experience in finance, marketing, or management consulting
Minimum 3 years experience working in a subscription-based business model, with a field sales force
Previous experience managing direct reports, with demonstrated ability to build succession plans; to attract, motivate, and retain top talent; and to effectively manage individual growth through coaching and constructive performance feedback.
Extensive leadership and management experience with the demonstrated ability to deliver against multiple priorities simultaneously.
Previous experience managing through conflicts across distribution channels (direct vs. indirect, online vs. in- person, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in developing and obtaining support for business plans and strategies by influencing cross functional management with persuasive written and verbal presentations.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts and modeling.
Proven expertise in the art and science of modern price strategy and transactional price management
Deep understanding of the economics of a subscription-based business model
Relationship builder who can work with and credibly influence all levels of the organization in a highly cross-functional environment
Ability to transform sophisticated and complex analyses into high-impact, easy-to-follow presentations / business cases
Ability to work well under stress in a deadline-driven environment supporting multiple business units, functions, and geographies
Excellent organization and a high level of attention to detail
Thorough understanding of information systems supporting lead-to-order process – product/service catalog & price list, configure/price/quote (CPQ), order management, commissioning, etc.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision on small, high-impact team
Ability to anticipate issues and challenges, and to quickly adapt to unanticipated changes
Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
MS Access and/or SQL Server skills a strong plus
