Senior Vice President - Global Middle Office - Operations - Moody's Corporation - New York


Job description
Purpose
Reporting to the Managing Director – Global Middle Office (GMO), the SVP is accountable for implementing and monitoring business processes that support the requirements of the end-to-end ratings process from application through dissemination for Moody’s Investors Service.

Responsibilities
Develop, document, evaluate and monitor business activities and processes across the GMO that support the end-to-end ratings process from application through dissemination.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements, improved hand-offs and potential organizational changes that, if implemented, would drive improved efficiency and data quality.
Institute a culture of continuous improvement and establish accountabilities for operational excellence across all functions within GMO that support transaction processing.
Develop and maintain GMO performance standards and associated metrics to monitor and provide transparency to the global processing of ratings transactions in accordance with Company policies, procedures and service level agreements.
Analyze metrics to identify and make recommendations for enhancements.
Provide vision, leadership and guidance to inspire and encourage the GMO team to achieve high levels of professionalism, performance and accountability
Coordinate with the MIS Chief Administrative Officer Group on the assessment and implementation of changes to GMO processes related to the Target Operating Model initiative.
Manage the global hiring, training and development of GMO personnel.
Coordinate the communication of requirements for IT systems supporting ratings dissemination with the Ratings Operations Table.
Ensure regular, open and transparent communication (e.g., information, issues, changes, etc.) with GMO customers and stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
Fifteen+ years of combined back office or middle office support services / transaction processing / data remediation / reporting experience, with progressive responsibility, in financial services (fixed income preferred).

Bachelors / Masters in Operations Management / Information Technology / Finance.

Demonstration of continued progression and leadership experience in the following areas:
Development, implementation and management of global financial service back office or middle office operations
Team leadership
Change management of operations
Design of operational performance metrics / internal controls
System selections and implementation / data conversions / specification, etc.

Desired personal characteristics:
Strong analytical skills / ability to assimilate information quickly
Excellent communication skills – must be able to communicate with all levels the organization
Ability to gain consensus from multiple stakeholders / experience in driving change
