Director - Communication Strategy - Markstein Beverage - San Diego
Job description
The Director of Communication Strategy works with the President to create and manage our community and government relations, company-wide employee and executive communications, digital communications and industry interactions with the goal of enhancing our image, building our brands and executing our business strategies.
The Director will be responsible for building a compelling story and a 360 degree narrative that will shape the perception of Markstein Beverage Co. with our employees, retail customers, supplier partners, industry leaders, government representatives, community leaders, and, ultimately, our consumers.
The Director will create standards for our company message and will work closely with our executive leadership team to advance our business goals via a comprehensive communication plan. The Director will also direct company and community events while simultaneously coordinating the executive communication, industry work and government relations of the President. This will include some travel and event planning.

Candidates must be ambitious, organized, and possess the ability to multi-task and communicate a consistent message effectively to a wide range of people. This position will continuously support the President and must have the capacity to communicate well with teammates, suppliers, customers, government officials and community leaders.
Be able to communicate a compelling story in person, in writing, and through digital mediums
Possess superior written and verbal communication skills
Have the ability to influence people
Be professional and have the ability to provide honest and insightful counsel to the President
Be fluent in the current digital media environment
Be able to organize sizeable company events onsite and offsite
Develop agendas, take notes, record minutes
Be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Adhere to deadlines
Possess a good work ethic and a positive, get-it-done attitude
Be able to balance competing priorities
Have the ability to take on increased responsibilities as the position advances
Have a sense of humor
Education & Experience
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, government affairs or related field.
Some management experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
Master’s Degree preferred
