Director - Business Development - GMI - Seattle
Job description
Lightspeed/GMI is looking for an experienced business development professional with market research and digital and social media experience. This highly motivated person will exceed sales goals by acquiring new customers and by developing existing relationships using strategic account management and solution selling skills. This individual will be responsible for sales process execution from initial customer contact through the solution definition to closing the sale and implementation. The person should have experience selling into Director/VP Level plus at Advertising Agencies, Marketing Agencies, Social Media Agencies and End Clients. Location for this position is flexible.
Responsibilities
This individual will sell all Lightspeed/GMI products and services, including our latest new social media product – CONTEXT. This candidate will perform the following duties:
Qualify prospective clients and identify customer requirements
Leverage solution selling methods to determine customer need and provide solutions
Build and maintain client relationships to ensure repeat sales and referrals
Manage the sales cycle from first inquiry to multiple projects
Collaborate with the internal Lightspeed/GMI product development team to ensure market success
Serve as domain expert for Lightspeed/GMI’s social media product, CONTEXT
Call on SVP Consumer Insight and Research, VP Digital Strategy & Insight, Director Audience Intelligence & Analysis, Intelligence Manager, Manager of Digital Analytics, Brand Teams and many others
Produce territory and account plans as well as revenue forecasts
Desired Skills and Experience
BA/BS and 10+ years of B2B sales experience
Deep domain experience in market research, advertising, digital and/or social media research as well as Social Media Marketing
Consumer Market research or similar background
Strong drive for results and proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals
Ability to align resources internally to meet client needs in balance with Lightspeed/GMI’s delivery potential
Must enjoy fast-paced environment with tight, frequent deadlines
Ability to travel 30%
