THE OPPORTUNITY – What we are looking for.

We are seeking a talented and passionate VP of Sales & Business Development to join our rapidly growing professional services firm. The ideal candidate for this exciting executive position will have the experience of growing a small company into something extraordinary.
Reporting directly to the President, this energetic team player will lead our growing client-facing sales, business development and client management initiatives.
We are looking for a high-performing executive level individual who has professional services sales experience and has worked with SAP Software, Business Intelligence and Data Management in large enterprises across many industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The VP of Sales & Business Development will be responsible for:
Defining and executing the annual strategy and development of integrated sales efforts to support the company’s business objectives.
Combining both “revenue generating” and “strategic marketing” responsibilities, with business development and client support services.
Negotiating revenue agreements and effectively transitioning new clients into long-term relationships.
Creating revenue strategies, revenue roadmap and packaged service offerings messaging to the customer.
Leading, training and motivating the sales organization responsible for revenue delivery and account relationship management encompassing nine direct reports.
Proactively building a sales team, expanding the revenue pipeline and be adept at managing deal volume throughout the various stages of the sales cycle.
Generating and selling major deals in a growing company.
Positioning the value proposition of our industry leading service offerings to key decision makers (C-level) and stakeholders.
Other key aspects including the preparation and implementation of detailed sales plans, analysis of sales metrics, development and evaluation of marketing messages and product positioning in this competitive market segment.
Developing and implementing account management plans for existing large major accounts in coordination with individual account managers and the executive management team to meet the revenue goals of the company.

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5+ years experience in previous Director/VP Sales or Business Development role required.
Proven success managing/leading a sales force spread across multiple geographies.
Proven track record of training and motivating a sales team while ALSO focused on direct selling of Key Accounts.
Previous experience with business intelligence/data management tools from SAP or other competing software companies like Business Objects.
SAP partner/channel management experience a plus
Proven marketing management experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience developing and delivering presentations to audiences.
Effectively assesses and selects talent for the firm providing balance, direct and actionable feedback to employees.
Strong applications and analytical experience (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
BA/BS Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Management, Sales or related degree required.
MBA or related Master`s degree a plus
Local Bay Area candidates preferred
Position requires domestic travel
