Accountability
The Risk Management Director reports to the Vice President of Risk Management & Dispute Resolution, B&V Legal & Risk Management Division.

Role
Manage complex and critical risk management responsibilities. Operational responsibility for the design, placement, and implementation the company’s various insurance programs. Works under the general direction of the Vice President of Risk Management & Dispute Resolution.

Responsibilities
The roles for this position include the following responsibilities:
Leads the annual renewal of the company’s insurance programs, including design, placement and implementation
Manages insurance broker relationships
Subject matter expert on insurance coverage for a broad range of products, including professional liability, general liability, auto, employers liability, builder’s risk, ocean cargo, liquidated damages, etc.
Responsible for oversight of the project risk management team; assists with establishing the team’s strategy and goals.
Manage operations of captive insurance company
Provides claim support to project teams and management
Prepares and deliver written and oral presentations to company management on insurance issues
Training of company professionals on insurance issues
Provides support on insurance issues in coordination with the company’s Enterprise Risk Management Council
Current knowledge of legal issues involving company risk/liability potential and current trends in insurance markets
Serves as a resource to the Vice President of Risk Management & Dispute Resolution to achieve goals and objectives consistent with the organization’s strategic plan

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Additional post-graduate study preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of corporate risk management experience, preferably in the engineering and construction field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of legal issues around organization liability and insurance trends
Strong understanding of risk management programs for a company with global operations.
Good understanding of the company’s industry, market, technology, business model and metrics.
Strong understanding of company’s business operations.
Strong financial acumen to understand key financial indicators, and recognize profitability and revenue opportunities.
Global perspective of common business practices and impact on business.
Strong human relations skills, including ability to influence and negotiate.
Strong multi-tasking skills
