Director - Compensation - Rite Aid - Pennsylvania


Job description
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the analysis and administration of base and bonus compensation programs, as well as job analysis, documentation, and evaluation processes. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Manage the planning, design, and implementation of corporate, store, field, and non-union hourly base pay and corporate, store, field, and DC bonus programs.
Oversee the job evaluation process including the creation/revision of job descriptions and recommend pay grade allocation for all non-union corporate, field, store, and DC associates.
Direct participation in salary surveys; conduct analysis of current programs compared to survey data in order to recommend appropriate plan design changes.
Provide analytical and modeling alternatives for compensation analysts.
Evaluate current programs against market/industry best practices and lawful compliance.
Regularly communicate with Corporate and Regional HR management, and Store and Pharmacy Operations senior management to obtain input regarding compensation programs.
Manage preparation of compensation budget projections for store, field, corporate, DC, and non-union hourly groups to support corporate objectives.
Conduct audits of store, field, and corporate programs to monitor the effectiveness of the programs.
Direct creation as well as produce management communications/business recommendations for consideration by Executives to assist management in consistently communicating compensation philosophies, practices, and policies.
Create and maintain schedule for compensation staff for department projects in line with fiscal cycle; manage department activities within the yearly budget.
Provide consultation on union and DC compensation issues as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises Compensation Analysts and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
This position requires a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.

Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources or related field, plus five (5) years' experience in compensation analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, the associate must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills as well as a performance orientation.
