Director - Cable Sales - Shentel - Washington


Job description
Job Summary:

Supports activities related to Cable business unit sales and sales and marketing administration. Working with corporate staff and regional Cable Directors, develops sales and marketing plans to grow the Shentel Cable business unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support sales and revenue targets as established by Shentel management by focusing on direct sales model, supporting existing distribution channel and finding new distribution partners, and channels.
Work closely with marketing on marketing plans and promotions.
Work closely with the Shentel Cable call centers and provide excellent, training, support and customer service for our channels, D2D sales, 3rd party vendors, retail stores and call center sales.
Be the Shentel Cable corporate point of contact regarding corporate sales administration.
Assist in developing the annual sales plan, annual gross and net add budgets, and capital budget for retail store expansions, and then support implementation to effectively drive sales.
Working with HR, insure that Shentel Cable has a perpetual funnel of prospective direct sales people to fill the Direct D2D sale model.
Support Shentel Cable Sales Managers to ensure that Shentel retail stores exceed their sales targets and provide outstanding customer service.
Provide superior sales training to Direct Sales team, customer service and retail sales staff.
Provide training for promotions and products as needed.
Provide Sales Administrative support to insure that all commission data is received and audited on a regular basis. Work with Sales Managers to on sales order compliance and accuracy.
Manage and oversee all compliance activity to protect Shentel, our brand and our stake holders.
Analyze and identify trends in subscriber activity by researching customer data with Corporate and Field staff. Communicate market responses to current offers and promotions.
For all channels of Cable sales, insure that effective commission plans are in place, that commissions are paid accurately and on time, that all direct sales positions are staffed with qualified personnel and that all employees are properly trained for their assignments.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualification Requirements:
Four year bachelor’s degree is required. A business degree is preferred.
Minimum five years of sales management required, experience with direct door to door sales teams and retail sales also required. Experience in supporting multiple remote locations.
Experience recruiting direct retails sales reps, onboarding those reps and managing a pool of applicants that will be successful in the direct sales model.
Experience with training sales representatives and support corporate sale training modules, in train the trainer and online environments.
Experience negotiating third party agreements and business end user contracts.
Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, motivate and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
Familiar and proficient with Microsoft Suite of business software applications and other productivity tools, CRM, canvassing and planning applications.

Knowledge of:
Sales techniques for direct door to door sales as well as business to business sales and direct and indirect sales.
Cable products and services as it relates to consumer retail customers and business. Video, digital video, cable modem, VOIP over cable, RFOG and HFC networks.
Customer service techniques in relation to retail product sales and support.
Knowledge and experience with quota/commissioning plans, implementation and administration.
