Senior Director - Connectivity - Vitera Healthcare Solutions - Tampa, St. Petersburg


Job description
JOB SUMMARY
Vitera is looking for a Sr. Director of Development to lead the cross-platform solutions development. This person would be working with a team of developers, QA and Analysts on all solutions that are common to the various Vitera EHR/PM solutions. This includes, but is not limited to interoperability solutions to connect to multiple HIE, REC, RHIO, Hospitals, etc, Patient engagement solutions to connect patients directly with their providers, payers and other trading partners and entities.

This person will work closely with the SVP of Development and the product management teams to help drive the Vitera vision of connectivity. In addition, this person will need to interact with all the different product teams to lead the integration, as well as co-ordinate integrated release planning and scheduling.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Responsible for defining the technology strategy required to meet the goals of Vitera’s vision of connectivity and patient engagement.
Coordinate with Vitera hosting services teams to ensure proper functioning and uptime of hosted solutions in the connectivity space.
Coordination of resources to deliver on-time, quality releases.
Interaction with different trading partners (HIEs, Hospitals, Labs, Payers) to define scope of integration.
Oversee the development, QA and documentation (both online and CBT) projects.
Coordinate initial release with the Support, Sales and Marketing team.
Responsible for building an effective and efficient development organization.
Develop formal processes that are required for continued release.
Identify which of the existing Vitera processes should be used or modified.
Institute new processes, as needed, especially in the areas of release planning and upgrades.
Define the product roadmap based on target customer needs.
Define the right balance between functionality and usability to minimize training cost without sacrificing quality.
Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 15+ years related experience including 7+ years functioning in leadership role.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the healthcare transaction space, including Interoperability standards as well as some understanding of EDI/Claims transactions.
Technical expertise in the areas of transaction processing, middleware technologies, database design and UI technologies.
Strategic thinker and proven leader/team player with incredibly strong communication and collaboration skills.
Strong statistical orientation based upon driving discovery from both a formal qualitative and quantitative context. Extensive knowledge/experience with varied market research methodologies including segmentation, conjoint analysis and pricing models.
Proven skill in understanding market and technology trends, customer needs and development of strategy and aligning product plans built directly from customer input.
Highly skilled in building solid business plans which include appropriate ROI and related business analysis. Must be proficient in delivering and selling that vision through all levels of management within the organization.
Ability to determine clear prioritization and appropriate trade-offs regarding implementation issues based on articulated and defined constraints, dependencies, costs, resources and customer benefits.
Ability to directly and successfully lead, mentor and develop a talented team of high-performing individuals in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate, customer-champion with proven success in producing innovative products, services and supporting processes directly focused on improvement of bottom line results.
