Sr. Director - Teleflora - Los Angeles


Job description
Teleflora, the world’s largest floral wire service has a challenging position for a dynamic and energetic Senior Director, Teleflora.com in our West LA Corporate offices. Our recent e-commerce expansion provides a pivotal opportunity for a business savvy e-commerce professional to help support, build and guide strategic direction by proactively driving our online initiatives.
The Sr. Director will have responsibility for managing the company’s strategic and tactical online marketing efforts including SEM, SEO, email, media, affiliate partnerships, social media and analytics. In addition, they will also own responsibility for the P&L and budget planning & forecasting. The Sr. Director will also be responsible for building and managing a highly qualified team of ten. The ideal candidate must be driven, results oriented, analytical, adept at problem solving, and have a proven track record in direct response marketing. The position will report to the VP/GM of e-Commerce and work closely with the finance, product management, merchandising and offline marketing teams. Responsibilities:
P&L responsibility for Teleflora.com. Forecasting, monitoring and overseeing departmental budget.
Manage a team of three direct reports and various agency relationships. Must be able to provide leadership and promote team growth.
Drive new customer acquisition to Teleflora.com through multiple online channels and determine the optimal mix across channels.
Drive repeat business through remarketing channels. Responsibility for creating and analyzing direct response marketing, including segmentation, list and vendor management, and reporting.
Drive UX research and analysis to increase conversion and improve customer experience.
Build and maintain relationships with online partners and vendors. Crafting and negotiating vendor contracts.
Keep current with the latest e-commerce trends and technology to keep Teleflora.com competitive in the online arena. Identify areas of new opportunities within the online space.
Drive new e-commerce website build, development and launch.
Manage a multi-million dollar in-house search marketing campaign. Must have a strong comprehension of search marketing fundamentals and be able to guide a robust search marketing team in an extremely seasonal and competitive marketplace.
Act as the primary liaison between online marketing and several other internal departments, including IT, customer service, accounting/finance, project & product management, customer service and merchandising.

Desired Skills and Experience
Must have 10+ years of online e-commerce marketing experience with 3-5 years of experience in a director level role with team management responsibilities.
BA/BS in Marketing/Business or in technical field
MBA from a top school required.
Management consulting experience preferred.
Experience managing in-house paid search team.
Experience launching a new e-commerce site a plus ($100MM+ in revenue).
Experience in the online retail or gifting industry preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting complex models and marketing results to senior executives.
Candidate should have successful and well-rounded experience with e-commerce and product management (as well as some traditional retail direct marketing experience).
Candidate must possess strong strategic and tactical skills, as well as technical skills.
Candidate must have an intimate understanding of the creative process and have experience working with and evaluating creative work product.
The ideal candidate is a strong self-starter with experience in managing marketing projects, direct marketing projects, technology-based solutions, and implementing global, e-commerce marketing strategies.
Candidate must also have strong organizational skills, entrepreneurial attitude, and a proactive business style.
Must be able to work with large volumes of data and efficiently sort through data to draw meaningful insights.
Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills a must.
