Responsibilities
Role Purpose The Director of Project Management will be responsible for managing a team of Technical Project Managers within the NBC Sports Group for execution and delivery of projects within the portfolio of properties including desktop, mobile, video delivery and content management, with the overarching goal of providing deliverables within scope, budget and specified project timelines. This role provides leadership and support to all cross-functional business units though requirements gathering, development, resource allocation, QA/UAT and product launch. Responsibilities
Provide and ensure (either directly or through subordinate Project Managers) integrated oversight and controls from initial project assessment through to launch for all business readiness and technology solution activities and deliverables to ensure that scope is met on schedule and within budget
Produce top-down and bottom-up budgets, project schedules/plans, risk assessment plans, communication plans, etc. using the correct tools that accurately reflect the scope of work
Direct the management and implementation of multiple large and complex projects in the following ways: develop project plans and timelines; make staffing decisions based on assessment of team members' skills and workloads; and identify obstacles as necessary
Coordinate with and across internal departments (Business Development, Sales, Network Operations, WebOps, etc.) to complete projects on time
Ensure Project teams are staying on track with project deliverables and communicate progress to all stakeholders
Proactively identify opportunities to adjust processes for efficiencies, engages the appropriate stakeholders prior to making any major changes
Incorporate quality control processes into each project – i.e. qa, smoke testing
Proactively adjust budgets and resources as appropriate in accordance with scope and timeline
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
BS/BA in a relevant field, or BS degree in any field with equivalent experience.
PMP certification is a must
Minimum of 8 years of related project/program management experience in multi-platform content delivery, systems development, product development, and/or project/product management
Proven track record of excellent project management and team leadership skills demonstrated for challenging business needs, complex interrelated or technically oriented projects
Proven ability to both coordinate across a range of internal/external departments, and manage a large group of professionals directly, indirectly, and/or matrix managed across other groups and/or business units
Self-starter that meets deadlines and learns from mistakes
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and their underlying technical concepts as well as IP video streaming technologies
Working knowledge of web, online video and mobile standards, best practices, design and usability principles, and constraints within web, mobile and e-mail formats Eligibility Requirements
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics
MBA in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with Apple iOS, Android, BlackBerry and industry standard OTT platforms
Comfortable with online task managers and Wikis
Able to adapt/adopt new technology / solutions easily
