Job Description
Director, Compensation
- Lead the compensation function globally
- Drive all areas of compensation including:
* Executive compensation, including preparation of materials for Compensation Committee, and with Legal, CD&A
* Market analysis, including managing of compensation survey participation
* Job analysis and design; job structure management
* Sales and incentive compensation design and implementation
* Equity compensation at all levels of the company
* Reward/recognition program design and management
- Provide support to recruiting and HR Business Partners in compensation matters, setting guidelines, managing exception, providing creative solutions to compensation problems
- Take a lead role in managing executive (VP and up) compensation, particularly in the offer and design stages
- Be actively involved in the broader compensation community, providing insights into emerging trends and how they might apply to SunPower
- Be the recognized thought leader on all compensation matters within SunPower
- Drive compensation communications, ensuring that programs are understood, appreciated, and appropriately utilized
- Ensure that SunPower’s compensation practices are aligned with our compensation philosophy and our business needs
- Drive operational excellence for compensation processes
- Manage and mentor compensation staff, both direct reports and those with compensation responsibilities globally
- REQUIREMENTS
* BA plus 10 years experience; MBA preferred
* At least 5 years experience in a compensation leadership role
* Global, public company experience, preferably gained from within a high tech environment
* Experience in all fields of compensation, particularly in executive compensation
* Ability to operate at all levels of the company, from first-line factory worker to Board level.
* Broader HR experience (e.g. HR Business Partner; global rewards) a plus
* Strong executive presence
* Strong project management skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work in cross functional teams is critical
* Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
* Exceptional analytical skills, including advanced MS excel skills
* Creative and practical thinker
* Drive to cross the finish line; a tendency toward action
Desired Skills & Experience
