Job Description
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare is looking for a Senior Director, Global Clinical Research to join our R&D team in Madison, New Jersey.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Global Clinical Research, the incumbent should be articulate, creative, and tactical individual with extensive clinical research experience in several therapeutic areas. The candidate should be looking to expand managerial responsibilities in the development of drug/device products. Personality should be interactive, dynamic, and collaborative. Superior verbal and writing skills are critical to this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead global clinical research programs.
• Collaborate with Global Franchise Team members and Rx-to-OTC switch team to design studies to support specific claims or product registrations
• Programs will focus on NDA products, Rx-to-OTC switch candidates, new combinations, new technologies, and phase IV studies to support novel claims for existing products.
• Providing guidance in the development of project time lines.
• Developing innovative models and study designs to study the therapeutic advantages of new products.
• Selecting expert consultants and clinical investigators for development programs.
• Oversight of study conduct and generating study reports.
• Writing/supervising clinical efficacy and safety sections of new product dossiers.
• Ensure submission documents are accurate and of high quality.
• Projecting budget requirements.
• Presenting at meetings with FDA and international agencies.
• Representing Global Clinical Affairs at senior management meetings.
• Participate in Industry Association Task Force Initiatives.
• Providing scientific and professional leadership.
Desired Skills & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced Degree (MD, PhD, DMD, PharmD)
• If M.D., Board certification and/or sub-specialty fellowship in a major medical field is preferred.
• Ability to manage 1 to 2 direct reports
• Minimum of 10-12 years of clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Capable of designing innovative clinical programs/clinical studies
• Ability to Interpret clinical trial study results in a variety of therapeutic areas
• Able to contribute both as a leader and a member of cross-function teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior decision making and problem solving skills.
• Competent in supervising the writing and editing of a wide variety of scientific reports.
