Join our dedicated and talented team of individuals all focused on creating the best products in the marketplace. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Executive Director of Business Intelligence & Partner Relationships in our San Francisco, CA offices.

Overview

The Executive Director of Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing is the business owner for key enterprise-wide business intelligence initiatives with a particular focus on internal reporting and analysis solutions. He or she will be expected to work effectively at the highest levels of the organization to provide vision, define, develop, and implement such BI solutions and to align BI initiatives to our broader corporate strategy.


This role is accountable for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing the teams responsible for creating an information advantage for the organization with a focus on business strategy and analysis, data governance, program & portfolio management, and reporting and analytics delivery. Specific initiatives of interest include the completion of a next generation business intelligence data warehouse based on map/reduce and MPP db clusters, the expansion of a Traffic Quality Management initiative, and broadening the reporting and analytics support to sister organizations within the broader AT&T.
Success in the role is measured by (1) ROI on capability investments, (2) level of adoption of BI deliverables by the organization, (3) speed and efficiency of implementation projects, and (4) overall advancement of AT&T Interactive BI capabilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
*Develop and maintain the Business Intelligence portfolio and roadmap, seeking periodic input from a Steering Committee made up of key business owners / executives
*Own the successful implementation of business intelligence initiatives
*Champion adoption of BI systems/tools/processes where appropriate
*Partner with senior leadership on the continuing transformation of ATTi into a data and analytics driven organization
*Coordinate with the VP of Core Systems Development and other technology leaders to identify and prioritize key systems initiatives
*Lead a high-performing development and implementation team recruiting, training, coaching and developing effective leaders and staff
*Ensure teams have appropriate support to meet goals and ensure that project risks are identified, mitigated and communicated to stakeholders
*Oversee data management and data governance within ATTi
*Drive development and maintenance of business intelligence best practices, including maintenance of centralized business term definitions and related metadata
*Complete monthly executive summaries of Business Intelligence accomplishments / issues and more generally communicate progress with other technology leaders
*Manage associated budgets and processes within the Business Intelligence function.

Travel Requirements:
Frequent (every other week) short distance, same day / short stay travel is expected, particularly between Northern and Southern California offices.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications / Skills Requirements:
Interpersonal:
*A demonstrable history of influencing others through consensus building in a cross functional / matrix environment
*A strong and consistent history of leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome
*Excellent communication skills: Listening, verbal and written. Experience developing communications and presenting to senior management
*Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal
*Ability to negotiate and defuse conflict
*Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative
*Team-building, recruiting, and talent management skills are essential. Vendor management skills a plus
Technical / practical:
*Minimum of 15 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of information systems and information technology, direct management of a major IT operation is preferred
*Proven track record in developing, deploying and maintaining Data Warehouse / reporting / analytics technologies
*Experience with data and analysis issues associated with online business, e.g. web traffic analysis, bot detection, SEO / SEM analysis, and ad spend optimization.
*Experience with techniques and approaches to handling large amounts of frequently updated data
*Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary systems implementation projects
*Familiarity with a range of Business Intelligence approaches and tools
*Deep understanding and appreciation for both business and technology components of information strategy
*Bachelors degree from four year college or university; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
