Creative Director, Creative Lab - #Google - #New York

The Google Creative Lab is a small team that strives to re-think marketing across every kind of media - currently existing or not, with Google as its sole client. Our job is to manage the Google brand, find new ways to communicate the company's innovations, intentions and ideals, and do work of which we can all be immensely proud.

Like Google itself, the Creative Lab comes up with new ideas that push the notion of what is possible and what is practical. Like any good, small agency, this will all be about the relationship between great producers, creatives, engineers, planners and business thinkers.
We are looking for an Executive Creative Director with deep art direction/design experience to push the boundaries of communication and help steward and extend the Google brand in this new frontier. This creative leader will be an innovative, rules-breaking, progressive thinker who can apply the same level of creative originality and business impact to Google’s marketing as our engineers have on world- changing leaps in technology and our everyday lives

Responsibilities:

• Partner with chief creative, product, and business partners to come up with and execute BIG, never-been-done-before ideas with lasting impact to the Google brand
• Help shape, define and invent how the Creative Lab can leverage all the mojo of Google to make a profound impact on the world
• Define marketing communications' creative direction and technical innovation across all platforms
• Co-lead and build a world class team of designers, writers, film makers, programmers and creative tinkerers
• Be the digital-guru of the Creative Lab and foster outside agency relationships to develop a creative ecosystem globally

Requirements:

• BA or MFA degree in Design or related discipline preferred
• At least 10 year’s experience at a creative agency leading creative for iconic global brands
• Portfolio of original and breakthrough work
• Ability to thrive in a rapid paced environment on multiple projects in a scrappy, start-up atmosphere
• Great at rallying creatives to do the best work of their career
• Exposure to and knowledge about the craft of art direction and design and how it ties into the bold digital frontier
• Self-driven, fearless interest and curiosity in gadgets, inventions and world-changing leaps in technology, along with a healthy disrespect for the impossible
