Amazon Web Services is looking for a senior software development manager to join our CloudFront content distribution team. Our projects include massively scalable distributed systems that provide inexpensive, reliable, global distribution. Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or related field.
3+ years of experience managing a software development team, and a proven track record of shipping software on time.
Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
Have experience with Internet-scale distributed systems
Possess a strong understanding of the web services industry, highly scalable web servers and caching servers, REST and SOAP, etc.
Understand networking for example, routers, switches, load balancing, and the TCP/IP protocols including HTTP and DNS
Ideally have led or participated in the design and construction of a large scale Internet network including DNS, routing, etc., or design and implementation of a large scale distributed system, or design and implementation of highly performant and concurrent web servers
Master's degree and/or PhD preferred in mathematics, computer science, or related discipline preferred.
