Job Description
Think you can take on Rain Man in an all television version of Trivial Pursuit? Does Leonard Maltin call you to fact check his annual movie guide? Are you tougher than Ari Gold in negotiations over obscure, yet essential details? If your friends would be comfortable describing you as the “MacGyver of financial modeling” then this could be the role for you. This is not a normal profile, but we’re not looking for a normal person to join our Content Acquisition team.
This is a new position responsible for a lot of “heavy lifting” as we work to create new business models that help us continue on our mission to bring the world’s premium content to Hulu’s users. This role demands someone who can blend quantitative output with a strong subjective filter, at a breakneck pace. And someone who isn’t comfortable in a back office in a corporate tower… we’re small enough that everyone interacts directly with our most senior business leaders, sharing recommendations and debating the best path forward.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in various stages of our content acquisition process, including formulating content strategy, sourcing new opportunities, negotiating agreements, and maintaining long-term partner relationships.
• Create detailed financial models and presentations supporting content strategy.
• Complete long term and ad-hoc projects that drive efforts of the Content Acquisition team.
• Perform detailed analytics on a variety of content areas to analyze site navigation, usage metrics, and behaviors behind content consumption.
Skills
Qualifications:
• Passion for all forms of entertainment, digital distribution, and the implementation of new business models.
• 2-3 years Top Tier Consulting/Investment Banking experience.
• “Graduate level” understanding of the complex content rights landscape.
• Ability to thrive in an undefined environment, prioritizing and handling multiple projects concurrently, often with little supervision.
• Strong evidence of effective communication with internal and external senior management players.
• Finely honed sense of humor.
