Compliance and Audit Analyst at Wright Express


Job Description

Position has direct and primary accountability for driving a zero settlement error defect environment; no material financial errors resulting from merchant acceptance contract execution.

Responsible for oversight and administration of merchant acceptance agreements, inclusive of WAM, Private Label and Distributor. This includes Settlement Database Management and maintenance of contract conditions for validation purposes. Includes analysis of trends and other data as requested by management. Performs additional research and analysis to identify potential improvements in processes or policy as appropriate.

Governance of the Sarbanes Oxley requirements and responsibilities as related to merchant settlement processing. Includes performing required daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits as applicable and working with WEX Internal Audit, Partner & Merchant Operations, Finance, or other SMEs and stakeholders as applicable to identify process improvements, modifications to existing or new controls. Facilitation of external audits (on-site or off-site) conducted by accepting merchant partners.

Responsible for engaging in the front-end sales process to ensure contractual terms being considered can be executed. If development is required, spearheading efforts to submit requests for consideration by the Prioritization & Slotting Committee.

Develops ad-hoc reports as necessary to identify or illustrate identified issues. Utilizes any specialized tools relevant to department to identify operational risks and potential solutions. Partners with leadership team in reengineering processes, builds process flows to identify opportunities and builds key metrics to validate pilot programs.
Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Prior experience in an audit and controls function.

Requires significant analytical and technical software capabilities.

Must have intermediate or better MS Excel, Access and Oracle database experience.

Operational process reengineering.

Project management.

Advanced presentation skills using any medium.

Complex problem-solving skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to provide training and documentation.

Knowledge of systems and business processes.

Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization, and follow through skills – the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
