Facebook is looking for a seasoned leader to lead our Data Center Community Development team. This comprehensive portfolio includes community development initiatives, development of communications program, and support/risk mitigation for global deployment of infrastructure solutions. We are looking for someone who is not only a talented leader, but who also has strong depth of experience across disciplines spanning Communications, Community Affairs, Public Policy and Legal. This leader will drive the development of a new community engagement program in each of our data center regions and build a global team in support of this vision. This team will build innovative programs that enable Facebook to scale our community and communication efforts in support of the Company's mission to build community and bring the world closer together.
Responsibilities
Build, grow, and manage a team of talent comprised of program managers and subject matter experts
Partner with internal leaders to understand company and infrastructure related goals and initiatives and how to advance them at the local level
Create and implement company-wide strategy for deployment of innovative community engagement initiatives in Facebook's data center regions
Develop strategic approach to expanding Facebook's infrastructure globally and work with internal stakeholder teams to mitigate risk
Build relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally
Identify strategic opportunities for external presentations to external audiences in the data center regions
Communicate program status to all levels of the organization
Align program initiatives with partner teams of dramatically varying backgrounds (technical, legal, public policy and communications teams)
Develop strategies for new program development, including philanthropic initiatives, from identification of partners to planning and execution
Identify and execute opportunities to align communication standards across internal teams and external partner teams
Travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50%)
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of experience in Communications, Community Affairs, Government Relations and Legal fields
7+ years of experience leading teams and hands-on people management in a matrixed organization
Experience working in a cross-functional environment, with consensus building and collaboration experience
Experience strategically planning and executing programs and projects
Preferred qualifications
Experience in policy work for a multinational corporation or government
Data center experience
JD or MBA
