As the Director, Project Management you will build and lead the Poppin Project Management team through an exciting, hyper-growth phase. You will create and execute plans to build a team capable of handling nationwide corporate furniture installations from proposal to punch-list. You will implement the tools, processes, and technologies required to deliver an outstanding, best in class customer experience. Additionally, you will manage a growing team of project managers (5) and project coordinators (2), currently based in NY, SF, and LA, with additional growth planned in a number of new markets.
We are looking for a highly experienced project management leader who thrives in fast-paced, multi-faceted environments. Your success will be largely driven by your ability to organize and manage your team to implement 100+ concurrent projects while providing detailed communications both internally and externally.
Build a solid project management foundation (team and process) capable of scaling with our rapid growth.
Evaluate, recommend and implement project management software solution(s)
Create processes and communications strategies (internal and external) for every aspect of the project lifecycle from proposal through punch-list
Create a hiring plan, career paths, and compensation plans for building and managing a geographically dispersed team of project managers
Train and develop the project management team on new systems and processes, and measure performance at each step in the project life-cycle
Support the sales team to help them win more deals by listening to client, proactively identifying potential complications/issues, and creating presentation materials (including RFPs) that make Poppin the clear winner in every deal
Remove salespeople from the post-sales process as much as possible so they can focus on winning more business while the project manager focuses on client success
Proactively (and overly) communicate with salespeople so they can determine when it’s necessary for them to get involved and communicate with the client
Ensure understanding of local markets, local and state building codes, etc.
Develop rapport with local installers and other vendors
Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a project management role, furniture experience a plus
Demonstrated track record of success managing projects in a fast-paced environment
Exceptionally strong organizational skills and oral/written communication abilities
Prior management experience leading a team in a dynamic, hyper-growth (50%+) environment
Experience designing/implementing project management processes leveraging software solutions
Ability to build and manage projects across multiple geographic locations
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
