Executive Director - Ayusa - San Francisco


Job description
The Executive Director is responsible for leading the Ayusa organization, specific responsibilities including program operations, financial planning and management, sales and marketing, and staff retention and development. Must motivate and develop Ayusa’s semi-volunteer field staff network. In addition, represents Ayusa to external constituents, including industry associations, funding sources, government contacts, and international offices and overseas partners.
Essential Functions

1. Manages and oversees the administrative and daily operations of the program, ensuring efficient program delivery and compliance with federal regulations.
2. Provides highest level of customer service to all constituents.
3. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
4. Develops vision and plan for organizational growth in partnership with international offices and executive team.
5. Designs and develops or assists with design and development of program(s) or project(s) and marketing messaging and materials.
6. Manages contract, grant, and/or corporate funding; approves and monitors budget expenditures; prepares budget revisions; provides interim status reports on all accounts; oversees, coordinates, and/or assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding.
7. Develops annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the organization.
8. Oversees and/or coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.
9. Represents Ayusa to outside constituents, including government, partners, schools, and media, etc.
10. Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
11. Collaborates with functional teams to leverage resources and enhance programs.
12. Builds staff and volunteer cohesiveness and pride.
13. Represents Ayusa on the leadership team.

Qualifications
• 10 to 15 years professional experience.
• Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred, but not required.
• Experience managing a large, diverse and remote staff.
• Track record of successful P&L management, including handling of complex budgets.
• Leadership experience in a large membership, volunteer, or field-driven organization.
• Hands on experience with staff development, conference planning, training, and program marketing.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead, inspire, and communicate with the diverse communities, field staff personnel, partners, schools, government entities, the media, and others critical to the organizations' success.
• Strong preference for international or cross-cultural experience; second/third language skills a definite plus.
• Knowledge of fundraising and grant solicitations, both private and public sector, a plus.
• Salesforce experience greatly preferred.
