Director - Technical Product Management - Surgical Information Systems - Alpharetta
Job description

The Director, Technical Product Management is responsible for leading and directing workflow of a Product Management team to gather requirements and develop specifications for the SIS Perioperative Solutions. This position will draw on their technical experience as well as working directly with clients in producing product specific requirements as well as identifying market trends, competitive positioning and creating business justification for each major software release.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage industry and business acumen to create product strategy and vision for products
Establish product road-map and lead cross-functional teams to successfully execute product road-map in adherence to company’s release/launch process
Manage to key product metrics; including market share, profitability and analyst rankings
Gather product requirements related to the Perioperative environment and create Prototypes, Use cases, User stories and persona’s
Develop requirement specifications for specific capabilities within the product
Work directly with clients to gather and review requirements, prototypes and other items related to future product development
Provide clinical support and feedback of the introduction of SIS solutions throughout the release process
Establish and maintain relationships with physicians, nursing management, and other associated personnel at the client level
Support internal and external education courses, and activities related to the clinical usage of SIS solutions
Attend key conferences and workshops. Participate in meetings, shows, and conferences as required to demonstrate and promote SIS solutions
Develop and maintain effective knowledge of competitive products and provide input to Management.
Communicate routinely with the marketing and sales teams on SIS solution development activities
Support SIS Sales training programs, both formal and informal
Writing white papers on product benefits, features and/or market trends
Creating, managing leading clinical Advisory Board sessions
Coordinate release roll-out between departments. (Development, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, Training, packaging)
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor Degree desired.
7+ years experience working with a software development life-cycle methodologies (RUP, etc…)
5+ year of experience as a Software Product Manager desired
3+ years of experience working with Healthcare Information Technology products desired
Experience writing product specific business proposals desired
Pragmatic Product Management training
Strong presentation and communication skills
Expert use of Power Point and other presentation software
Knowledge of technology and software in order to understand how the SIS solution fits into the competitive landscape and to demonstrate appropriately
Skill in communication of all forms including verbal, written, and listening
Skill in social perception in order to be aware of others’ reactions and how to navigate those reactions
Skill in service orientation in order to always be looking for ways to provide helpful solutions
Ability to reason, both deductive and inductive
Ability to travel up to 50%
