The Director of Post Production, VICE Digital, will manage the assignments and activities of all editors, assistant editors, post production manager, ingest operators and post production coordinators on the VICE digital team to ensure projects stay on schedule and with in budget. The director will work closely with producers and executive producers to create schedules and budgets along with assisting those teams in the delivery process for all VICE digital productions to air. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, cool-headed, and detail-oriented.
Lead strategic planning and assume responsibility for the overall management and operation of post production for VICE Digital
Allocate and schedule post production personal to various vertical producers and their projects
Supervise the final delivery of all associated assets (cue sheets, QT deliverables, project files, etc)
Manage the daily assignments of 20+ post personal both staff and freelance
Supervisor and act as technical liaison between editors, production and post supports teams
Conduct talent outreach, scheduling and maintaining a roster of freelance staff
Maintain open communication with domestic and international offices
Strong, calm leadership during technical outages or slowdowns and be proactive in finding immediate solutions
Represent the VICE Digital team to other departments and bureaus within the VICE operation
Experience and Qualifications
3-5 years experience as a post production supervisor, manager or equivalent
Extensive knowledge of Adobe Premiere workflows
Experience with creating and vetting post production budgets and schedules
Experience with MAM software and news applications.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proven experience delivering content to digital and network specifications
Must be comfortable handling multiple projects and working in a fast paced environment
Passion for leading teams and creating a culture of operation excellence
Experience delivering content to Snapchat, Facebook and other social outlets
