The Director, Brand and Consumer Marketing, will report to the Vice President of Brand Marketing and be responsible for driving brand and show strategy and execution of integrated marketing plans across the network. We are looking for a strong leader that will help pioneer the network’s consumer-first (kids and parents) thinking and help us to reinvent what the Universal Kids brand means internally, to potential viewers, and to the industry. The right candidate is strategic marketer, a scrappy/innovative/creative thinker, a self-motivator, a clear communicator and relentlessly strives for business results.
Lead elements of the Universal Kids brand positioning, including identification of target audience, relevant trends, opportunity areas and ensuring consistent and effective brand presence
Devise and define brand, show, communication and creative strategies
Communicate our marketing plans and strategies within the team and with internal/external stakeholders
Work with internal/external stakeholders to identify and develop brand activations and bring thru-the-line campaigns to market with innovative plans that touch traditional, digital and social (paid & owned) media, influencers, events, PR, partnerships, celebrity talent and more
Create and manage key brand partnership relationships to drive consumer awareness and build the brand
Develop impactful, scrappy opportunities, including barter relationships, with relevant brands, networks and properties
Partner with Legal, Sales, Production and Leadership to identify network standards and practice guidelines
Support the creation and execution of promotional strategies to support new show launches as well as activity to support existing programming
Support Ad Sales and/or Affiliate Marketing initiatives to help generate awareness and monetization of key priorities
Identify and utilize kids, viewer and media trends and opportunities that can be leveraged to drive growth for our brand and business
Lead and develop a direct report

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of brand/consumer marketing experience, in the TV/Cable, media or entertainment space
• Track record of leading, motivating and working closely with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and see through multiple priorities
• Ability to excel in fast-moving organizations

• Excellent verbal and written presentation, storytelling and influencing skills
• Knowledge and/or working experience of kids/parent trends, behaviors and media
• A self starter, with the ability to set a clear path with minimal direction
• Disruptive, creative /scrappy thinker that can do more with less
• Proven success identifying, defining, and establishing KPIs that align with business objectives
• Passionate about brand, consumer and integrated marketing
• Extensive experience managing external agencies (creative, media, experiential, etc.) and creative teams is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and team management skills; ability to collaborate with internal & external clients (team player)
• Thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
