The Director of Engineering is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong engineering background and a successful track record leading development of SaaS based, highly scalable systems. You will lead our Seattle-based engineering team, working closely with our data science division to build and scale the Veritone platform. To be successful in this hands-on role, you must have a history of being an all-star developer with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments, with a knack for management. You must be able to communicate clearly and partner closely across multiple departments to meet aggressive deadlines.
Grow and lead a high-performing team of engineers and data scientists, responsible for developing and deploying machine learning engines at scale.
Consistently deliver aggressive product road-map deliverables.
Provide hands-on architecture and development for our cloud infrastructure and micro-service architecture enabling AI analysis of live audio/video streams.
Engage in conferences and external activities that facilitate staying abreast of the latest cutting edge technologies and approaches.
Work closely with our Chief Data Scientist to drive best practices supporting the growth of our Seattle based office.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience architecting and developing highly scalable and secure SaaS based systems.
Expertise designing, building and operating distributed, micro-service oriented platform in a cloud-environment.
Experience implementing the full lifecycle of software development and delivery with Agile development practices including unit testing, continuous integration, refactoring.
Ability to link technology vision and strategy with overall business objectives and communicate rationale in a compelling, concise manner.
Understanding of the current trends in software development architectures (Microservices, APIs, distributed systems), software development languages (Java, Node.JS, ReactJS, Golang, etc...) and cloud environments (AWS).
