The Director of Data Excellence will lead Ruffalo Noel Levitz’s efforts to improve its data processing and analysis capabilities. The Director will connect with members of the Software Engineering, Operational Delivery, Data Management and External Vendor teams to drive the creation and implementation of improved data processing software, platforms and procedures. Once initial improvements occur, the Director will continue to lead projects centered upon continuous improvement and functionality/capacity expansion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively lead the defining and refining of toolset and platform requirements
Properly scope required development projects with regards to resources, budgets and timelines
Act as an internal consultant and provide all teams with architectural, technical and best practices guidance
Prioritize overall project workload and hold teams accountable for results
Effectively leverage external vendor resources, including off-shore resources, to achieve desired outcomes
Manage change requests from stakeholders to ensure needed changes occur while keeping progress on-track
Provide strategic counsel to team members and leaders regarding future data processing ideas and needs
Deliver high-quality outputs on time and on budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in a technically related field
5+ years of experience actively managing software development and implementation processes
Demonstrated experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
Ability to facilitate discussions in a collaborative and constructive manner
Familiar with modern data management and reporting technologies including but not limited to Big Data, Data Prep, ETL, Data Governance and Self-Service Analytics
Strong interpersonal, team building and leadership skills
Demonstrated experience successfully engaging off-shore and external resources
