The Director of the Program Management Office (PMO) works across the organization (global engagement and matrix responsibilities) enabling the management, governance, and execution of key Neurovascular projects. He/She leads the development of complex business processes and global matrix teams to improve project management principles and practices, and ultimately improve productivity. These processes range from work intake to value realization of projects. This role will focus mainly on projects impacting key strategic initiatives for the Neurovascular business portfolio. He/She will sit on the Neurovascular Management Board (NVMB) and will be involved in both formulation and execution of strategies to drive success. This role will report to the General Manager of the Neurovascular business.
Build and develop the program management office (PMO) capability in Neurovascular through leading the global business governance which drives the prioritization and sequencing of key strategic imperatives.
Sets strategy and leads the development of program management maturity within the business including ownership of standard project management tools and processes.
Responsible for designing, executing and providing strategic and operational support to strategic business planning efforts and portfolio management forums.
Responsible for hiring, coaching and development of people and facilitating program and lead portfolio management efforts to optimize our project delivery capabilities of the highest value business initiatives.
Identifies, develops, and supports building the lean / agile capabilities in the business.
Determines how IT can support reengineering of business processes and partners closely with IT to ensure the seamless delivery and management of projects across both the Medtronic functional and geographic business matrix.
Serve as a player / coach, responsible for global project management of miscellaneous projects that span multiple business units and corporate functions in a highly matrix environment.
Must Have
Bachelor degree
10+ years of relevant experience in Project Management and or related business functions with Bachelor or 8+ years with Master
7+ years of managerial experience
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable
Nice to Have
Master degree
Certified Scaled Agile Framework Program Consultant (SPC)
Formalized training in Lean principles
Ability to manage large projects from inception to successful implementation
Prior experience managing multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills in a global business environment
Six Sigma certification
Change management experience
Familiarity with key inputs/outputs/processes associated with medical device development and commercialization
