Sr. Director Next Generation Corrector HEOR Vertex Pharmaceuticals Boston

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the supporting evidence and value proposition of Vertex products through each stage of their development and lifecycle. This position reports to the Senior Director or Head of Global HEOR.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the HEOR strategy for a key asset and/or therapeutic area.

Lead the design and execution of:
cost-effectiveness and budget impact models
global value dossiers
prospective and retrospective observational studies
comparative effectiveness research studies
meta-analyses and systematic reviews
patient-reported outcomes (PRO) measure development and validation,
Serve as the HEOR asset lead on cross-functional and cross-regional teams to ensure HEOR strategic plans reflect the input of key stakeholders and are appropriately aligned with clinical, medical and market access plans
Ensure that design of Vertex medical and clinical development programs considers HEOR endpoints relevant to payers, physicians and patients
Implement best practices for HEOR data collection, analysis, modeling and dissemination; support high-quality data collection and analysis from clinical development plans
Collaborate with the medical communication teams on publication planning strategies, and ensure that evidence from HEOR studies is appropriately disseminated for maximum usefulness and impact
Facilitate the integration of HEOR evidence into HTA submissions for relevant assets
Collaborate with regional and local partners on local dossier submissions
Train and support US Managed Markets team and MSLs on health economic data communication
Work closely with global brand marketing, clinical, and other functional teams to support and optimize access to our marketed products globally

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline; clinical background should be supplemented with advanced quantitative training demonstrated by an MPH or MS in a relevant field
Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in health economics, outcomes research, and/or market access, with emphasis on HEOR
Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating expertise in health economics, observational research, and PROs
In-depth knowledge of US healthcare system and global HTA processes and guidelines; direct ex-US experience in submissions and payer interaction is strongly desired
Thorough understanding of clinical development strategies and trial designs
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute on global strategic HEOR plans

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills; significant experience making presentations to senior management is strongly desired
Results-oriented approach with excellent management, analytic and collaboration skills
Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry, with spotless history of compliance and ethical workplace conduct
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to develop creative solutions to novel problems
Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a fast-moving matrixed work environment
Self- motivated; acts independently and prioritizes
Orphan drug development experience preferred
