Microsoft’s Supplier Management and Quality team within Microsoft’s Procurement organization is seeking a Director to utilize existing project, program, and process management methodologies to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of our team’s deliverables and services, while continually identifying opportunities for improvement. Candidates must show an ability to contribute to the development, building, and running of Microsoft’s Supplier Program (MSP), executing the program mission, consistently, accurately, and under tight time constraints. “Ensure best value, highest quality, and lowest risk suppliers for the Enterprise”. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to use independent judgment to provide tactical solutions for immediate issues/needs, contribute to risk management, and participate in the development and clarification of expectations, scope, and scale to achieve shared objectives and minimize redundancy. You will look for opportunities to evolve processes, services, and solutions to improve the external supplier and internal stakeholder experience.
You will be working across multiple organizations to assist Microsoft project owners navigate the complex supplier and buying environment. You will be working with third party suppliers of all sizes and scopes. You will be responsible for managing Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) for supplier performance, supplier compliance with Microsoft policies, large scale communications, evangelism/marketing, deployment of Supplier Relationship Management strategies and the like, including the broader support of the Microsoft supplier community. You will be the initial escalation point for your team. You will be responsible for the evolution of these programs, the team and continuing to ensure a world class supplier population through industry benchmarking, process enhancements, and the use of current technology.
Responsibilities
Support the evolution of Procurement’s Microsoft Supplier Program and multi-year SRM strategy incorporating organizational/Business Group priorities;
Sets the direction or approach for the delivery of the Microsoft supplier programs by using established project, program, and process management methodologies to achieve clear and measurable outcomes for the business;
Manage to MSP compliance standards – contractual, financial, risk, performance and operational;
Assist Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams’ efforts in implementing effective SRM models, provide guidance and monitoring support focused on the performance of suppliers and their agents delivering services across various Microsoft divisions;
Drive risk assessment and mitigation strategies for nominated accounts within the Microsoft Supplier Program;
Acts as a thought leader in driving consistency in processes and services to align with defined policies and procedures to meet performance expectations for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery;
Uses judgment, subject matter expertise, and proven methodologies to minimize risk and revenue impact;
Seeks opportunities for improvement within processes or services and proposes changes or adjustments to plans;
Develops an impact assessment for change management associated with simplification and automation. Manages change across multiple global stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation;
Establishes relationships with new and existing customers, partners, or internal groups for a strong network and open communications;
Develops shared strategies and clarifies expectations for scope and scale globally to achieve shared objectives and minimize redundancy;
Actively seeks and creates opportunities for synergies across internal groups to drive long-term solutions and shared roadmaps globally;
Applies known industry methodologies for ensuring strong financial health with all suppliers participating in supplier programs;
Drives and maintains supplier governance frameworks that are aligned to internal stakeholder needs.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or Engineering preferred;
10 - 15 years procurement and/ or outsourcing supplier management, with proven performance improvements realized year over year;
10 years Program Management experience of running large programs with proven outcomes
Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and thought leadership in the discipline of supplier relationship management;
Team player and strong interpersonal skills managing internal and external partner relationships;
Ability to communicate information effectively, create effective Program stories of impact, able to evangelize and influence across multiple audiences and at all levels in the organization;
Ability to persuade, lead and motivate others through indirect influence;
Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft’s core businesses fundamentals;
Experience of managing executive escalations from initiation to settlement.
