The Director of Business Development and Strategic Planning will have responsibility for successful development and execution of business capture, campaigns, customer interface, strategic planning, business development, and marketing for all Undersea Systems product lines.

The successful candidate will collaborate with all of the Strategic Units to shape business development, strategy, marketing plan and tools; effectively communicate with a wide range of customers and stakeholders; and be responsible for achieving new awards and acquisition targets for the Annual Operating Plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse subject matter expert team and departmental activites for Undersea Systems.
The Director of Business Development and Strategic Planning reports to the Navigation and Maritime Systems Division Director of Business Development. This position requires extensive travel, approximately 50% of the time.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accountability for marketing budgets
Managing the annual strategic planning process
Primary interface to sector and corporate strategic planning organization including the business focus areas
Primary interface with customer community and building customer relationships through effective communications, both with internal and external customer bases
Develop strategies to ""shape"" requirements and acquisition strategy
Develop NCTA strategies and managing NCTA budget
Identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships
Achieve acquisition and sales goals
Support the business units to keep current programs funded
Manage the business acquisition process (BAP)
Schedule and facilitate executive customer contact plan
Developing and executing trade show events


Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

- Technical Bachelor's degree
- 5 to 10 years' relevant experience
- Must be a United States citizen
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
- Demonstrate a familiarization and understanding of business development and strategic planning practice/process
-Demonstrate a familiarization with DOD and US Navy requirements including OPNAV and OSD organizations.
- Demonstrate a familiarization with the Congressional budgeting cycle.
- Familiarization of operational employment of key undersea weapons systems
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to present strategies to a variety of audiences, including customer and NGC senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
-Technical Bachelor's degree
- 10 to 20 years' relevant experience
- Must be a United States citizen
- Top Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
- Thorough knowledge/understanding of business development and strategic planning practice/process
-Understanding of DOD and US Navy requirements, including US Navy customer requirements generation and mission concepts of operations; and, Navy budgeting and acquisition process
- Thorough understanding of the Congressional budgeting cycle
- Thorough understanding of operational employment of key weapons systems used by the United States Navy
- Established network of key United States naval officers
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to present strategies to a variety of audiences, including customer and NGC senior leadership
- Familiarity and relationship management with Undersea Systems customer base, including, General Dynamics: Huntington Ingalls Industries; Executive Offices for Submarines; Littoral Combat Ship and Integrated Warfare Systems; Naval Sea Systems Command; and other classified customers.
-Extensive contract knowledge within the Department of Defense including: OPNAV, OSD, PEO (IWS), PEO (SHIPS), PEO (SUBS), NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NIPO, DARPA, AND ONR.
