Deputy Managing Director APAC Cubic Corporation Honolulu

Responsible to the SVP and Managing Director of APAC to assist in the expansion, validation, and closing of international business opportunities for CGD with new and existing customers in Asia Pacific (AP) region including India. Responsible for maintaining and coordinating with Directors and Managers throughout the AP to ensure overall situational awareness of all on going and future opportunities in the AOR. Maintains a leading role for CGD in AP for business development, customer/supplier/JV relations, teaming/partnering, competitive intelligence, work share development, market leadership, agent selection, and profit and loss with appropriate support from the product lines – with focused support and understanding of the unique environment of NE Asia. Assumes direct customer interface role in regard to capture management, program execution, status, and problem solving and future opportunities to all Components and Headquarters in the PACOM Command structure in Hawaii.
Maintains a visible and knowledgeable presence within Hawaii’s business community to further develop potential partnerships and business opportunities. Maintains direct communication and updates with CGD leadership and supporting functional areas throughout CONUS and with Cubic San Diego. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the preparation of objectives, priorities, and reporting metrics for international sales and program execution activities in AP.
Identify markets and potential new customers to expand the international pipeline in the PACOM AOR..
Contribute to strategic planning efforts in regard to regional responsibilities
Maintains direct contact with PACOM and Subordinate Component Commands for potential opportunities and situational understanding of the PACOM AOR priority efforts
Support improved communications between sites, product lines, corporate and CGD functional areas and lead marketing personnel to leverage previously developed projects, improve cross-selling, and apply lessons learned
Coordinate with domestic business development organization when programs require FMS/FMF funding or contract actions
Ensure that international objectives and target programs are addressed by appropriate ITAR coverage.
Support development of CGD strategic plan with emphasis on APAC conditions/opportunities.
Maintains direct communication with CGD Global BD and supporting budgetary requirements
May recommend IRAD candidates to enhance international market development.
Improve quality of competitive intelligence.
Support development of the annual contact plan to maintain Cubic visibility with key clients.
Support executive management visits to AP.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in business, finance, marketing or related field, plus twelve years related experience. MBA degree highly desirable. Expertise and experience in the PACOM AOR with prior PACOM level job experience highly desirable. Understanding of the unique blend of cultural and training requirements of International Military organizations throughout the AP. Military experience and / or full understanding of Military performance oriented training requirements. Broad business experience evaluating markets and business opportunities. International P&L and/or joint venture experience highly desired. Advanced analytical skills necessary in order to organize, plan and execute contracts, agreements, teaming, and strategic purchase orders. Strong interpersonal skills in order to interact in extremely delicate, sensitive and/or complex situations dealing with U.S. and foreign agencies and commercial customers and suppliers. Ability to prioritize projects and work under tight deadlines without supervision. Must reside in Hawaii.
