This specific position will be responsible for coordinating the development of Rack Scale Design technology across multiple different groups both within and outside of Intel for the next generation of DCG platforms. Rack Scale Design represents the next generation of Software Defined Infrastructure targeted at cloud server deployments that can be dynamically provisioned across compute, network and storage resources. It dramatically improves a customer's flexibility to 'right size' their infrastructure based of the specific performance and capacity requirements across a pooled share of resources. Rack Scale Design is path finding and ground breaking new methodologies will be invented and deployed across industry.
To succeed in this role will require strong leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to build respect and influence across a diverse, cross-organizational team. The successful candidate will have excellent presentation and communication skills, a proven ability to develop and drive complex execution plans, creative problem solving, and a passion for this challenge. This position also requires significant technical acumen in order to be a credible partner for the technology engineering teams. The successful candidate must understand the information the development teams are giving him/her to be able to build respect and make effective decisions across many different organizations and disciplines. Be one voice on the technology and the solution line to internal stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar degree with 10+ years of a balanced combination of:
FW/SW/HW Director level Engineering Management
Program/Project Management experience in delivery of a full datacenter systems solution-covering Applications, OS, Storage, Networking and Compute infrastructure
Experience leading a large, matrixed, multi-geo development team such as a Platform level PXT.
Full Product Life Cycle experience on large scale compute/storage/networking projects.
Additional qualifications required include:
Excellent teamwork, collaboration and consensus building skills across organizational boundaries - Comfortable working with minimum supervision
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience working with Product Management and Engineering teams to define product features, Landing Zones and Platform Intercepts into full Product Requirements, Architecture and Validation Specifications
Extensive knowledge on system development, preferably with datacenter applications, Cloud OS's, orchestration and open source.
Knowledge of Intel server CPU/silicon strategies and roadmap
Knowledge of networking, cloud workloads, and for accelerator workloads
High level project/program/platform management experience
Senior level decision making and influencing experience
Proven leadership with senior technical and management teams
