We’re looking for a highly savvy Public Relations Director, North America responsible for the quality and effectiveness of PR plans, press releases, and pitches in North America. The right candidate will develop strong business positioning for Avast with key influential media and create a brand in the US for the CEO through speaking opportunities and participation in thought leadership events. The role is responsible for managing the regional annual budget and ensuring the effective management and measurement of the PR programs with a resulting increase in engagement and exposure to our content and stories. Reporting to the VP of PR, this role will also manage all North America PR staff and PR vendors.
Develop a strong company position in the press and significantly raise visibility in the US
Develop the brand and create visibility by driving a strong reputation that will influence our top-tier media to include news coverage
Develop PR plans with product and marketing teams for major industry events and trades shows including messaging and positioning statements as part of an integrated marketing strategy
Give guidance to all strategic and tactical efforts of public relations firms as the primary company interface. Act as one of the company’s primary interfaces to the media in the US and Canada
Leverage experience with all media: print, broadcast, online to build and position the Avast brand
Develop best practices for rapid response to threat news to ensure Avast is in the news cycle
Requirements
BA or BS in Public Relations/Communications or Equivalent area of study
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in progressively senior management of communications, public relations, and a strong understanding of the business needs and competitive challenges
Significant experience developing and executing a consistent approach and framework across global external communications efforts and channels with measurable results
Articulate, strategic, and pragmatic problem-solver with ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Highly experienced in effectively communicating and building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Deep connections and media relations strength with US press and influencers
