Responsible for design, updates and implementation of labor relations business strategy, including training and communications. Includes anticipating and advising business leaders on the impact strategic or operational decisions will have upon engagement, dysfunction, and unionization risk and makes recommendations that avoid and/or mitigate labor disputes. Provide leadership, often acting as first responder, and materials for pre- or post-petition union campaigns. Includes leading the management team on the ground in organizing campaigns. Drive the development and execution of enterprise-wide, best-in-class training for frontline employee's field leaders and HR on positive workplace practices and how to maintain a non-union work environment or a high- performing organization if organized. Oversee/manage or lead the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements to ensure they are in alignment with Company objectives.

- Partners with HR and business leaders to develop proactive and positive employee and labor relations strategies and initiatives that drive business objectives.
- Develops strategy, statistics, survey data, and Company position statements for union negotiation preparation.
- Reports delays and problems promptly; takes appropriate action to maintain effective coordination of activities; ensures that unit activities do not conflict with organizational goals.
- Keeps all interested and involved parties informed of matters requiring their attention.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with labor organizations that represent employees, negotiating and administering labor agreements and otherwise conferring with labor organizations on behalf of management, and providing guidance, consultation, and assistance to management on a variety of labor relations matters.
- Prepares for emergencies; anticipates events; understands the factors and conditions affecting the organization and responds appropriately when these change.
- Coordinates Labor Management Council Meetings and participates in formal negotiations.
- Advises management and union officials in development, application, and interpretation of Labor Relations policies and practices.
- Investigates and resolves complex grievances between grieving workers/union and the Company.
- Ensures compliance with policies, rules, regulations, and laws; stays current on legal, regulatory, and policy developments affecting areas of responsibility and communicates effectively with all involved parties.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- Generally requires 10+ years related experience in both union and non-union environments

- Ability to travel as needed

- Experience working with and supporting HR leadership decisions influencing large multi-functional front-line employee populations dispersed across multiple states

- Demonstrated ability to partner within large corporate matrixed environments ideally with both Headquarters and Regional leaders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiences
- Ability to travel as needed
